In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. Dunkirk tells the story of this heroic, real-life mission.

Continuing the legacy begun by his use of the 15 perf 65mm IMAX® cameras in The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar, Christopher Nolan is once again capturing material and key sequences of Dunkirk using IMAX® cameras. These specific sequences, which will expand to fill more of the screen exclusively in IMAX®, will deliver unprecedented crispness and clarity and a truly immersive experience for moviegoers.
