Types of Loan Kits

With the availability of hands-on teaching material, you can enhance student experiences, enliven your instruction, and integrate subjects within the curriculum.

Natural Science Loan Kits
Learn about the natural world through hands-on investigation! With specimens from the Museum’s science collection, you can explore the differences between reptiles and amphibians, identify animals that live in the ocean, and even classify rocks and minerals. Loan kits include real specimens such as study skins, skeletal material, and pressed leaves. The Natural History collection contains approximately 10,000 preserved specimens ~ representing the zoology, botany, and geology of Texas and the Southwest

We customize each loan based on your unit of study. Some creative themes include adaptation, classification, ecosystems, food webs, and even a sampling of the entire collection. We also offer selected loans about the rainforest and Lone Star Dinosaurs.
