Fee: $5 per student for exhibits excluding Titanic; $8 per student for exhibits + Titanic
Group Minimum: 15
Required Adults: admitted free PK-K: 1 adult/6 students; Grades 1-12: 1 adult/10 students.
All students must be accompanied by a chaperone at all times.
Additional Adults: $10 exhibits excluding Titanic; $19 exhibits + Titanic

PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS

  • Innovation Gallery
    Suggested Grade Level: 3-12
    Learn about science and history topics as they happen in these interactive, illuminated spaces. Plus, experiment with rotation, sound and other concepts.

  • Energy Blast
    Suggested Grade Level: 3-12
    Journey back in time in the 4D theater and learn about the origins of the Barnett Shale. Then visit the “rig site” and witness the scientific story of energy.

  • Fort Worth Children’s Museum
    2nd Grade and younger
    Enter through the friendly dragonhead and have hands-on fun in this special exhibit gallery designed especially for children from birth through age 8.

  • DinoLabs & DinoDig®
    Suggested Grade Level: K-12
    Use scientific processes to discover dinosaur fossils at field sites, analyze fossils, and create images of what dinosaurs looked like. Learn how paleontologists find fossils, document their location, carefully dig them up, and securely pack them for transportation to the lab in this large, outdoor recreation of the Jones Ranch dinosaur field site in Texas.

Titanic

  • Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
    October 13, 2012 – March 22, 2013
    Suggested Grade level: 3-12
    $8 per student; $19 per additional adult
    On April 15, 1912, during her maiden voyage, Titanic, the world’s largest ship, sank after colliding with an iceberg, claiming more than 1,500 lives. 100 years later, after the sinking of the ship, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition showcases recreated rooms and more than 300 artifacts retrieved from Titanic’s debris field. You will experience Titanic’s voyage from launch to tragic ending, to modern day recovery and restoration efforts.

Storm School

Wednesdays at 10:30 am

Learn about wild Texas weather with Jeff Jamison, CBS 11 meteorologist. This 45-minute program is available at no additional charge with your field trip exhibit admission. For additional information and to register: rreed@fwmsh.org


Cattle Raisers MuseumCattle Raisers Museum
Suggested Grade Level: K-12
The Cattle Raisers Museum, a museum within the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the vital history and science of the cattle industry. The experience begins as you trace the origins and development of ranching as both an industry and cultural phenomenon in the 1850’s and takes you on a journey of the cattle industry and into the future of the business.

Your students will enjoy the artifacts such as the cattle and horses, barbed wire, spur collection, and branding irons. Inter-actives include Ride-A-Long Round Up, Run A Ranch and the seven minute multi-media presentation, The Thundering Herd, in the Noble Planetarium.

Reservations may be made at least ten days in advance of your visit by sending fax to (817)336-2470. Both a Student Group Reservation and a Guidelines Form must be completed and faxed.
