BUILDING SERVICES CUSTODIAN
Part-Time Employment
This position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of public areas of Museum exhibits and administration areas, as instructed by Supervisor.
Basic Function and Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Empties wastebaskets and recyclable containers. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or exhibit galleries.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, elevators, stairways, exhibit galleries, exterior of exhibit cases, balconies, entrances and exits, storage rooms and other work areas.
Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, various surfaces, and trim.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two to five years related experience and/or training.
Ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Operate industrial cleaning equipment and/or hydraulic equipment
Ability to work various daytime hours, as well as some holidays and weekends
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in a team oriented environment
Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and inclement weather
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a valid "C" driver's license.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two to five years related experience and/or training.
