The Omni Theater is a technical marvel incorporating the most advanced super 70mm, multi-image projection and sound systems in the world. With a screen seven stories tall and 30-degree stadium seating, the Omni Theater is the largest IMAX dome in the United States west of the Mississippi River. The Omni’s 80-foot domed screen places the audience in the center of the action, producing a sensation much closer to real-life than a conventional movie theater.

Behind the dome's vinyl-coated surface, 18,600 watts of power drive 72 huge speakers strategically placed in 10 clusters. The 6-track sound "moves" across the theater in synchronization with the action on the screen. In addition, the Rear Window® Captioning system is now available for the hearing impaired on selected films.

The patented Omnimax® projection system, a trademark of IMAX Corporation, uses 70 mm film with 15 perforations per frame to project an elliptical image area of 4.3 square inches. Not only is this nearly 10 times larger than its 35mm counterpart, but it is actually the largest film size format in the history of motion pictures. Standing 6 feet high and weighing 2,000 pounds, the Omnimax® projector virtually fills the screen as it projects 180°, distortion-free images through its fisheye lens. The projector itself is housed beneath the theaters seating area, which holds 390 people. Tilted seats offer an unobstructed view of the brilliant images on the theater’s giant concave screen.
